The Strides Story...

Strides of CNY, LLC was established in 2003 with one mission… improve athleticism! The movement started in the the Summer of 2003 with a few young hockey players, a small facility, and a few weights. The boys saw results within weeks and the word was out! Each passing year, the clientele grew and the company continued to enhance the programs. The Strides movement quickly gained a reputation for success and established its self among other sports and genders, not just boys hockey. These sports include but are not limited to lacrosse, soccer, basketball, football, figure skating, crew, wrestling, tennis, softball, baseball, track & field, volleyball, cross country, field hockey, gymnastics, cheer, and mixed martial arts.The movement also continued among the adult population... college students, young professionals, mothers, fathers, coaches, and the Syracuse SWAT team. Soon "EVERYONE" was looking for the "EDGE" that Strides delivers! As our clientele increased so did our facility in regards to space, "specific" programs, and equipment. Keep in mind, Strides is UNLIKE any other gym or fitness center. We provide a service that no other facility can offer. It’s an experience that provides catering, service, and guidance to our clients and athletes. We have a full line of the most innovative programs that are science base, motivating, and successful for both adults and athletes. Our programs are balanced, functional, fun, and rewarding.

The sports performance programs are "specifically" designed for a variety of athletes. Our clientele is among the area's elite. Comprised of youth, high school, college (Division I, II, III), and professional athletes. We have the most innovative training system in the area that delivers results! The performance programs strongly emphasize improving an athlete’s strength, power, and speed. Athletes will develop quickness, agility, balance, core, mobility, and enhance "sport-specific" conditioning. Proper sprintining techniques, biomechanics, and increasing an athlete's first 2-3 steps are incorporated. Individual athletes and teams can greatly benefit from our strength & conditioning programs. Not only will your athletes be in top cardiovascular shape for the start of the season, they will also be stronger, faster, and more explosive.

The adult programs are designed to progress with each client’s fitness level and strength. We have a large adult clientele that includes college students, parents, coaches, and the Syracuse SWAT team. Our adult programs include: adult functional training, personal training, boot camps, cardio boxing/kickboxing and cardiovascular training. We have a variety of ‘unique’ equipment to create a training session unseen at any local gym or fitness center. Our atmosphere, facility, and exercise/nutrition knowledge allow you to reach your fitness goals & much more.

Last winter I started training with Strides of CNY before playing professional soccer overseas, where I competed in one of my best seasons.
Strides helped me not only get stronger, but faster and more explosive. Unlike other weight lifting programs I have been placed on where I became bigger and slower, lifting was finally enjoyable and beneficial. The workouts are specially made to help performance, which indeed they do; I led the league in goals and felt stronger and quicker than I ever have. I was overseas for almost 7 months while Matt sent me weekly workouts based around my practice and game schedule, they not only helped me reach my peak, they helped me maintain it while in season. I got back a few weeks ago and was eager to get back into my off-season training at Strides. Matt and Mike genuinely care about their clients and helping them enhance their performance and I highly recommend Strides of CNY.

I began working out at Strides of CNY one year ago.  I had been working out at Planet Fitness and other area gyms and just wasn’t seeing any significant results and my workouts were boring.  Matt and Mike recommended their boot camp class and an open training program as well as a healthy diet plan (Precision Nutrition) and the rest is history.  I came in at 20% body fat and am currently at 12% and have lost close to 30 pounds of fat while adding lean muscle.  The open training and boot camp classes change every week so the workouts never get boring.  I am faster, stronger, and my flexibility has increased significantly over the past year.   If you want to improve your overall health and fitness level I highly recommend Strides of CNY.
